AFX News - Munich, March 20 2001 - Siemens AG said it has abandoned its powerline communications, which allow data transmission and internet access via electricity rather than telephone networks.
"We have decided to abandon our powerline communications projects, at least for the time being," said Siemens spokesman, Peter Gottal.
"We will continue to observe developments in the field closely and may resume the projects at some point in future, depending on market developments and business potential."
